I've been shading the pink down a little to a bluer hint, bit of oxford blue in the shadows and that sort of thing so not so much a "Hot Hopwood" anymore

Just got to get some base colours on a coupole of parts of the figure and so hopefully I'll get to post some more pics this evening.

Here's some progress

The board is mostly done, the initial shading and highlighting is done on the body of the figure, but a lot of touching up still to do, and I definitely want to add some sharper highlights onto the "armoured" sections.

PP

Coming on a treat, I like the shade of pink you have chosen, and I'm sure it will go down well with a certain person

This is looking good, Like the surf board idea very much, can I say what it reminds me a little of, its the powered surf board used in Treasure Planet, I know its a kids film, but having kids about kind of dictates your viewing choice.

Its turning out great this, it is an interesting choice of colour, but i think it really works for the piece..... like to see it up close.

Chopper!!

"Hopwood Pink" - now there's a paint shade to have in your collection

Board and figure working really well, looks great so far, PP. Are you going to have a number on the underside of the board as well?

Painting proceeds apace, since these pics were taken I've done some more work on the feet and arms, but I'm really going to have to start work on the base soon, and I expect that will take a week or so. As for a number on the bottom of the board, I'm not sure, should be easy enough to cut a small template and add the numbers, but not sure it needs it. I do intend to try and fit a small number circle on the left shoulder though.

And I'd just like to add, although I'm sure Adrian mentioned it when painting his sniper, the detail on these figures is so fine and crisp that it is as good as any metal figure I've painted. And easily on a par with several resin ones. It amazes me what the sculptor has achieved and most of the whole range is just as good . . . .

I finished painting the figure over the weekend. Somehow I got round to painting a number on the underside of the board but not the shoulder, so much for the best laid plans and all that . . . . Anyway, I'm waiting for some filler to dry and then a bit of sanding should see the base constructed, so while waiting for that I painted the sheet I'll stick across the front.

Some of the banding could do with a tweak but it's about done.

Ah, "Hopwood Pink".......Possibly not something to be known for, but I guess I've brought that one on myself

Very clever and looking very good PP. Having spoken on the phone about the ideas you're considering for this, I think it'll be another model that makes people stop and wonder why they've not done something like this themselves.

Adrian.
